Try removing all the mods. If that solves the problem it is one of the mods. When you reinstall each mod separately, ensure the mod version is compatible with the latest version of the game. There is usually a note of which version of ETS2 the mod is compatible with on the mod info page when you download it. #1.

As the title says, whenever I try to play, my game stops loading, black screen, freezed and Steam client crashes. Have to kill ETS2. This is happening after latest Steam upgrade, was fine until a few minutes ago.
